I was out of reading material on a recent business trip and bought his book "The Road". I did not find it fulfilling, but rather depressing. It eventually made sense to me after having read that in an interview with Oprah he stated his 8 year old son was the inspiration for the book. I have shared similar feelings when I am in the company of my grandsons. My admiration for the book has increased. Cormac is an old guy I understand. Makes sense now.

Agreed, WP. It can be quite depressing, as you said, but looking at it from a father's perspective really changes it.
